If you haven’t been following, we have been having a string of great performances and the Gator’s Men’s Basketball team is currently ranked #10 in the nation. I invite you out to the Field House this week to catch this Friday’s game against Syracuse. Game is starting at 7pm! Join us for a big match-up, we will be on the Market St. side of Field House, 1150 Filbert Street.
SEC Championship Game
The Georgia Bulldogs of the Delaware Valley invited us to the Field House to watch the SEC Championship Game on December 3rd. Join them and get behind the SEC East as it tries to upend LSU from its trip to the Superdome for the National Championship Game!
Scholarship Fund Total:
I want to once again thank all of the members and friends of the Philadelphia Gator Club. You should be proud, you contributed over $1200 to our scholarship fund this football season, which we am excited to award to local students.

From noon to 3:00 on Saturday we are meeting up with Georgia fans at TGIFridays for Philadelphia’s version of the “biggest cocktail party!” Fridays is located at: 1776 Ben Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA.
Then, head on over to the Field House for the 3:30 kickoff of the game and our game viewing party! We have food and drinks specials as usual and special raffle prizes this week!

Hey everyone! Just some reminders about some upcoming events the Philly Gator Club is hosting!
Game Viewing Party:
Don’t forget, for each football game we get together at the Field House to watch together and cheer on the Gators! We have food and drink specials, too!
We also sell raffle tickets at the game viewings and raffle off some fun prizes each week! Proceeds from the sales of raffle tickets goes towards our scholarship fund, which supports local students heading off to UF!
First Fridays:
Join us on October 7th for First Fridays in Old City! Come out and Take this opportunity to patronize some fine art, interact with fellow Gators outside of the craziness of football, and enjoy the evening in Old City Philadelphia! Check your email soon for an evite invitation!

Hey Philly Gators, we hope everyone is having a great summer and is ready for the start of fall and more importantly, FOOTBALL! Here are some important updates for upcoming events.
Drinking with the Enemy: September 1st, 6pm – 8pm at Cavanaugh’s River Deck. Come out and show your Gator spirit, meet fellow Gator fans and other SEC and college football fans. Let’s show ‘em that the Gators have the best fans! Don’t forget to wear you orange and blue!
Season Opener, Gators vs. FAU: Can’t make it to Gainesville for the game? Come on out to the Field House for our game watches! Kick-off is at 7:00pm. Join us for the game and some awesome food and drink specials!
Gator Club T-Shirts: new club t-shirts are available for purchase at the first game viewing! We have Orange (short and long sleeve) and light blue (short sleeve only) They are $15 for short sleeve and $20 for long sleeve.
Fall/Winter Events Survey: Please take a moment to fill out this short survey about the kinds of events and activities that you might be interested in doing with other Gators. It should only take you 5 minutes. Thanks!

Hey Philly Gators,
For the past three years, I have had the extreme pleasure of serving as your president. As all good things go, this too must come to an end. It is with extreme sadness and lugubriosity that I have decided to step down June 30th as President of the Philadelphia Gator Club. The time has come for me to step aside and allow future leaders to step up while I scale other summits. From setting up viewing parties at the Field House to representing you at conferences in Gainesville and other cities, I have enjoyed every single minute of being your president. I take with me many memories that will last a life time.
During the last three years, we have found a permanent home at the Field House, overhauled our website, entered the social media age and increased our membership; all goals I had set for us when I took over. We would not have accomplished any of our goals without the assistance of a great Board of Officers. Thank you to each and every Officer that has volunteered their time to help our Club move forward. I also want to thank all of you guys for your support of the Philly Gators. Without you, University of Florida would be just another university; Saturdays in the fall would be just another day in the weekend and “Go Gators” would be just words. As Gators, we know all three are so much more. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
Ok, enough of the mushy talk. I will be attending all of the spring and summer events making it my President’s Farewell Tour. The itinerary includes a golf tournament, Gator Guzzle (our annual pub crawl) and International Gator Day. I would encourage you to come out to all the events. Please come and share stories with me about how I have bored you the last three years with my newsletters, ruined your commercials during my halftime rants and abused my powers by wearing a hideous tie every Saturday.

It’s that time of year when all friends of the Philly Gators trek through West Philadelphia imbibing on hand crafted adult beverages and catching up with old friends. This year we have replaced two venues with new exciting locations. A map with the list of stops will be handed out at the first location. We also have a new t-shirt with great art work. I think you guys will love the Guzzle shirts as much as I do.

From London to Seattle, Gators everywhere will be volunteering their time to help make their respective communities a better place. Philly Gator Golf Tournament

Calling all duffers! Dust off the irons and come hack up the old golf course in Limekiln , PA. Whether you golf side to side or are a scratch golfer, we welcome all golfers to spend a day on the links with your favorite Philadelphia Gator President and help our scholarship fund. If you are interested in golfing and would like to register, please contact me at phillygators@yahoo.com.
I look forward to see most of you at the last three events of our fiscal year, which I affectionately call The President’s Farewell Tour.
There is a possibility of a fourth event which would be the President’s BBQ Bash, but the plans are still in a state of flux. Stay tuned.
